Since last week's Review of Washington Wines blog posting, we've tried some more Rosé wines and others. Here are our discoveries.

2020 Triennes Rosé Mediterranée ($16.99 - wine.com) - This presents a light copper-pink color and intriguing aromas of raspberry, red currant, pomegranate, tangerine, pink lilac, pink lavender and pink incense. The flavors are fresh and bright, accented by grape skins, pomegranate seeds and minerals. The back picks up framboise and cassis liqueurs and recurring tangerine peel on the way to a dry, lightly spiced finely fruited finish. 18+/20 points.

2020 Valériole Rosé Mediterranée ($19 - The Thief, Walla Walla) - Light copper-pink colored, this possesses attractive aromas of strawberry, pink cherry, red currant, pink roses, pink lavender and pink incense. The flavors are pleasingly light and fresh, with notes of grape skins, cherry stones and minerals. The back picks up fraise and cerise liqueurs and creme de cassis, followed by a refreshing, dry finish. 18.5/20 points.

2020 Lavau Tavel Rosé ($15.99 - wine.com) - Composed of 50% Grenache, 45% Cinsault and 5% Syrah, thus us more extracted than usual for a Rosé. It shows a deep rose color and intense aromas of fraises de bois, red currants, pomegranate and blood orange, with scents of red roses, orange blossoms and spiced orange incense. The flavors, as well, are striking, with notes of grape skins, pomegranate seeds and Avignon riverside minerals. The back picks up fraise and creme de cassis liqueurs and orange peel on the way to a juicy ripe finish. 18.5/20 points.

2020 Saint Roch Les Vignes Côtes de Provence Rosé ($18.99 - Esquin, Seattle) - This 50/50 Cinsault, Grenache combination offers a light copper-pink color and attractive aromas of fraises de bois, red currants, pomegranate, orange peel, pink roses, lavender and pink incense. The flavors are fuller than the color seems to indicate, with bright fruits that are accented by grape skins, pomegranate seeds and hillside minerals. The back reveals fraise and cerise liqueurs and recurring orange peel, followed by a nicely fruited finish. 18.5/20 points.

2020 Domaine du Carrou Sancerre Rosé ($23.99 - wine.com) - Sancerre Rosé is made from Pinot Noir. This one shows a brilliant copper-tinged pink color and seductive aromas of wild strawberry, pink cherry, orange peel, cherry and orange tree blossoms and pink incense. On the palate, the flavors are brisk and vibrant, with notes of grape skins, cherry stones and calcareous minerals. The vibrancy continues on the back with gently pressed fruits, kirsch and fraise liqueurs and a twist of orange peel, followed by a lingering dry finish, lifted by bright fruit acids. More of a food wine than a sipping one. 18.5/20 points.

2020 Calvachina Bardolino Chiaretto ($17.99 - Esquin) - Chiaretto is the Veronese name for Rosé. This one displays a copper-tinged pink color and enticing aromas of raspberry, cherry, orange, red currant, pink roses and pink incense. The flavors, as well, are fresh and pleasing, with notes of grape skins, cherry stones and Lake Garda minerals. On the back, the wine enlivens further with sensations of raspberry and currant liqueurs and recurring orange peel on the dry, well fruited finish. 18.5/20 points.

2020 La Spinetta Il Rosé du Casanova, Toscana ($18.99 - Esquin) - This 50% Sangiovese, 50% Prugnolo Gentile combination shows a brilliant copper-pink color and an enticing nose of strawberries, pink cherries, pink peach, tangerine, cherry blossoms and orange incense. The flavors are fresh and lively, with notes of grape skins, cherry and peach stones and hillside minerals. The vibrancy continues on the back with red fruit liqueurs and recurring tangerine peel followed by a slightly spritzy finish. 18.5/20 points.

2020 Brander Rosé, Los Olivos District ($18.99 - wine.com) - This Santa Barbara County Rosé is a real find. It is a striking combination of 54% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Syrah. It displays a copper-tinged pink color and intriguing aromas of raspberry, cherry, rhubarb, orange peel, cherry and orange blossoms, and pink incense. The flavors are bright and deftly extracted, with grape skins, cherry stones and minerals. The back picks up kirsch and orange peel on the way to a nicely fruited finish. A refreshingly different kind of Rosé. 18.5/20 points.

2019 Talmard Macon Chardonnay ($16 - The Thief) - This comes from the town of Chardonnay from which the grape takes its name. It shows a brilliant gold color and attractive aromas of apple, peach, citrus, apple blossoms, acacia flowers and whiffs of white incense. The flavors are bright and true to variety with notes of grape skins and Maconnais stony earth. The varietal purity continues on the back with apple and peach liqueurs and touches of creme fraiche and lemon zest, followed by a crisp finish. 18+/20 points.

2018 Domaine Audebert Bourgeuil ($18.99 - Esquin) - This is a tasty 100% Cabernet Franc from Touraine. It displays a purple-crimson color and ripe aromas of raspberry, cherry, currant, crushed roses, mulberry, sweet tobacco, rubbed sage and incense. The flavors are thick and generous, with copious up front fruits that are intermixed with licorice, cocoa, black tea and calcareous minerals. The chewy textured back picks up macerated fruits, roasted nuts, kirsch and cassis liqueurs, followed by a satisfying herb dusted sweet-dry tannin finish. 18+/20 points.

2019 La Marca Prosecco Rosé ($16.99 - Safeway) - This popular brand, sold in many supermarkets, is a pleasing bubbly. It shows a copper-pink color and attractive aromas of strawberry, cherry, tangerine, cherry blossoms and pink lilac. The flavors are pleasingly fresh, enlivened by grape skins and CO2. The back picks up cherry and strawberry liqueurs on the way to a crisp light alcohol (11%) finish. 18/20 points.

2019 Kurtatsch Grauvernatsch Schiava Griga, Alto Adige ($12.99 - Esquin) - This bargain comes from Italy's "Sud Tirol." It comes on like a deep colored Rosé along with intriguing aromas of wild raspberries, pink cherries, red currants, rosebuds, cherry blossoms and whiffs of orange incense. The flavors, as well, are distinctive, with forward medium bodied red fruits that are intermixed with red licorice, cocoa, herbal tea and Dolomite minerals. The back picks up red fruit liqueurs and tart cherries on the way to a pleasing juicy yet dry finish. Serve slightly chilled. 18+/20 points.

2017 Palama Arcangelo Primitivo, Salento ($14.99 - Esquin) - Primitivo is the precursor of Zinfandel. This version from Puglia offers a ruby-garnet color and smoky aromas of semi dried berries, cherries, plums and a bit of fig, with scents of dried roses, roasted meats and wood smoke. The flavors are robust yet accessible, with generous fruits that are intermixed with licorice, coffee beans and baked earth. The back picks up roasted berries and nuts, marinated plums and tart cherries, followed by a chewy, spicy moderate tannin finish. 18/20 points.
